I am chartered psychologist and a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a principal lecturer and researcher in cognitive psychology at the University of Westminster. Over the last 25 years, I’ve designed and run a BSc and an MSc programme and several undergraduate and postgraduate modules on all aspects of clinical psychology and neuropsychology, and specifically cognitive rehabilitation and cognitive neuropsychology in ABI. My clinical research interests include the cognitive genesis of hallucinations and my pedagogic work focuses on how we can support student transitioning into education.
I am currently working with several ABI charities to develop educational resources to help educate the general public as well as those who have direct contact with ABI survivors, either professionally or personally. I am passionate about improving the quality of life of ABI survivors and educating the general public and professionals about the realities of living with an ABI and providing better support for them. My research is shedding new light on what ABI survivors really want from health care professionals, and how employers can better help them gain fruitful employment.
